And see all my Mechs in might scale, as seen from a person perspective walking on the ground or on a mobile plataform. Would be nice to be able to see a friend's Hangar as well.

It would be awesome but i hope they don't put that in the game. Reason?
Since that would enable them to improve the more important parts of the game.
If they made this feature now it would almost be like developing a whole new game just for a peepshow.

Not dissing your idea...just stating my opinion on what the concequenses might be.

I would be happy with a simple hangar layout with the ability to rotate and zoom on details of my mechs.

It would be extra effort, but not all that much more. After all, in terms of programming a mech model isn't much different from a model of a person. Just the scale and appearance. And this engine can already run all of that no problem.

(If they couldn't [Couldn't, not unwilling to] make something like that, I would be really worried.)

Sense the game is in first person, it would be cool to walk to the cammand center and hanger like the load screens in MW2:Mercs kinda hinted at but it's really not nedded.

It is just for coolness. Don't need to be from launch. But would be nice to visit the Hangar from a friend to check on his new Awesome! Or just move around, like a trophy room - all the Mechs you've mastered.

*Typo, please show me any other errors, not my mother language.

A bit like EVE online when docked would be cool. Mech spinning. :)

Respectfully, screw that idea. They can implement that functionality after launch. No rush, no hurry. It would be like some awesome mech-version of Autovista. Come to think of it, if things really become that stable on the MWO development front, I believe an Autovista-like experience, with narration and a peek into the workings of the mechs would be a great addition. It would really be a way to sell the mechs to us! Tell us the history of the mechs while showing us up-close views of the mech, inside and out. Then do it with variants! I'm sold!

Please just do it after all main game modes have been released. This would be real icing on the cake.

I disagree that it would just be fluff.

Adding the mechanics to make such a thing possible would be the first step along the road to adding Elementals and other forms of power armor.

Imagine running short on C-Bills and your mech is in bad shape... What to do? Get together with 4 of your closest equally poor friends and try to take down that darn Atlas as a star of Elementals!

You have to admit that something that MWO is going to be missing, that should be an integral part of the BattleTech Universe, is all of the tanks, APCs, and the various power armors. You're going to kind of lose sight of the scale of a Mech if you don't have lots of little things buzzing around your feet that need stomping on!

Biggest problem with that is, since we won't have perma death, after some time passes most players will have hundreds and hundreds of kills.

If it tracked kill streaks, then maybe. Seems like a bit of a waste of developer time though really.

Love the idea. I don't think it would be that intensive. But I don't seeing it as something they'd have at launch.... still the idea would be pretty sweet. I was just thinking about autovista and someone else mentioned it. Another cool idea.

This.
Anyone that has played EVE may remember being able to view the active ship in the hangar and rotate it as well as see the various weapons mounted. CCP implemented walking in stations which is just what it says... the ability to walk around in your captains quarters and hangar. For a feature that required so much dev time it is rarely used and really serves no purpose at this point. Yes they will build on it, but MWO really doesn't have any direction to take such a feature. Please use the dev time that would be required for walking in hangars and add usable/purposeful content.

While mech combat is cool and all, I agree that I would love to see some out-of-mech stuff added someday. I would love to have the ability to custom create a unique looking mechwarrior, and then have other players see that character. I would love to have "town" areas to walk around in among other players. Even a 'guild' dropship where you and all your buddies could hang out 'in person' would be great.

But in the very least I would like to see an EVE online style character portrait. I only tried that game years ago, but back when I tried that game, the first thing you did was create a pretty detailed headshot of your character which everyone would see when interacting with you. How cool would it be to target a friendly or enemy mech and see the character portrait of that player? An example here.

Something that I never understood was why these games are called "mechwarrior" when they've never included out-of-mech content. Battletech is pure mech warfare. Mechwarrior is what added all the out-of-mech on foot RPG content. Thats where you had characters, stats, and human equipment like pistols, bodyarmor, etc. When I first heard about "Mechwarrior Online" my first thought was that it would feature both in-mech and out-of-mech play.

It's a dream for the future at least.

Elemental Adventures, love it! Just save it for the future, PGI!

No walk through models please, that is not the way this game shouldn't be headed. I would appreciate the continuation of battle mech devopment, rather than fantasy stuff like that. Walk through ships didn't do anything for EVE and it won't do anything for this game!

Fully agree with the injection of some RPG-lite elements into the game. Definately don't want pay-item monocle nonsense. Just an avatar (Even with their face covered by a neurohelmet is fine) and some first person interaction with your mechs in your mech bay would be a nice start.

Some big ideas you have there, Synra. Let's let the game mature a little more before adding to much out of mech content.
